The first incarnation of Skatt Bros. used double drumming, featuring Richie Fontana and Craig Krampf. Both totally prepared to put ego aside to make this work, they became great friends in doing so. Richie has said that the experience made him an even better player. Eventually, Craig left the group to concentrate more on his career as a session player. His drumming appears on many hit songs heard over the years - among them: Nick Gilder - "Hot Child in the City", Kim Carnes -"Bette Davis Eyes".
Interestingly, both Richie and Craig appear on the KISS/Paul Stanley album which was recorded 2 years before this; Richie on side 1 (N.Y. sessions), and Craig on side 2 (L.A. sessions), although they never actually met until Skatt Bros.
This photo, shot through the control room glass at Record Plant L.A., shows Richie - foreground (back to camera); Craig Krampf - studio back. Drum roadie Brian Scott (aka Scotty) far right.
