Laura Branigan 1983-1985

Richie performed on tour with Laura during the peak of her career. He was her drummer for all live performances and TV shows from 1983 through 1985, touring the USA as well as Canada and Mexico. Performed on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson twice, Solid Gold, and Solid Gold Hits, as well as other TV shows of the day. Richie can also be seen in the video release: "Laura Branigan", a one hour live performance from Caesars Tahoe, Lake Tahoe, NV.

It was during this time that Laura was topping the charts with songs like "Gloria", "Solitaire", "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", and "Self Control", making her a platinum selling artist.

The appeal of her music drew a wide demographic, which in turn exposed Richie to a side of the business that extended beyond just Rock 'N Roll.

At times, he found himself working along side a diverse group of performers; from The Hollies to Bob Hope, from Frank Zappa to Elizabeth Taylor. Laura and her band topped the bill in a variety of musical venues, including a live national broadcast on the Westwood One Radio Network from the International Amphitheater in New Orleans, LA.
